DEGREES, CERTIFICATIONS, and SPECIALTIES:

_Ordained Minister: Christian House International – My husband and I run this ministry together. Our focus is on serving others as they come into our lives. For example, we keep pre-packaged bags of nonperishable meals in our cars. We never give money to pan handlers, but if someone is hungry, we are ready to serve them with a complete meal. We believe in prayer, but sometimes you’ve got to feed the body before you can feed the soul. Sometimes you've just got to stop and “give a man a meal!”

_Bachelor of Science Degree: San Jose State University – I graduated with a Business Administration major and a Specialization in Management Information Systems. I knew that whatever company I worked for, computers and managing information was what my focus would be.

_Desktop Publisher: Bertrand Documentation Services – This is a job placement company I owned where my employees worked on a contract basis, supplying desktop publishing talent to local companies.

_Real Estate Broker: Bertrand Realty and Bertrand and Cole, Inc. – As a broker, I hired agents to help clients buy and sell real estate. My company also sold real estate through the auction method, which was most successful.

_Author: Kindercize – This is a highly acclaimed book that I wrote with a co-author, Diana Mihalakis. Kindercize is used around the world in classrooms and homes to help parents with children ages nine months to five years enjoy time together during exercise sessions. The book also comes with a soundtrack of original music designed specifically for Kindercize.

_Freelance Writer: Self Employed Writer – Today, I am a subject article writer for HubPages and companies who hire me to write content for them.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

_People who are kind and compassionate toward others: God made us all. I prefer not to judge people for who they are. As long as someone is not infringing on someone else’s rights, I try to put myself in the other person’s shoes and learn about them – never judging. I believe we all should do the same.

_Art Museums and Galleries: I am not an aficionado. I couldn’t tell a Rembrandt from a Monet. I just know what I like. If a piece is colorful and tells a story, I enjoy it.

_Theater Arts: Through high school and college I tried my talents with acting. I enjoyed it. But, I found that I enjoy it better when someone else is doing the acting. I love Broadway musical productions, ballets, and operas.

_Music: Play anything with a trumpet, trombone, and bass guitar and I’ll listen all day long. I also enjoy the sound of classical guitar. I love full orchestra productions; baroque is my favorite genre of music.

_World Travel: I enjoy being in different cultural settings – seeing what other people see, enjoying what they enjoy, and learning what they know about life.

_Photography: I do the best I can with my little Samsung digital camera. Wherever I am, I like to take pictures to capture the moment.

_Gardening: If it can be harvested and tossed into a salad, I will try growing it in my garden. I also like herbs that can be harvested, and then dried to make a delicious tea.

I have a Bible verse that I enjoy reading throughout my entire day: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
